Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother to Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part as Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role in Murder in Greenwich of 15 year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to be awarded. The same character was played by Grace as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace reprised the role of Shannon in two episodes of Lost including the series finale. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in Californianation, the 6th Season. She plays Faith who's both an avid stargazer as well as a socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit older that Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens, she played small parts in the films of her father and she co-starred alongside her sister in Donnie Darko the cult classic. The year 2002 saw her was featured as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, an erotico-romantic comedy, and Sherrybaby (a film) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she had numerous films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). Following her acclaimed performance as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Then she was able to star in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as The Won't Back Down (12). Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). The most recent roles were the protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021, Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directing debut in the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
